Why do you want to enter tech?

I want to work in tech because I enjoy solving problems and building things that make a real impact. I started college with minimal experience, but I quickly got hooked on the challenge of developing software and working with cloud technologies.

What types of problems do you want to solve with technology?

I want to work on problems that make systems more efficient, scalable, and accessible. Whether it’s optimizing backend infrastructure, automating workflows, or improving data-driven decision-making, I enjoy finding ways to make technology work better and smarter.

Favorite class and/or teacher and why?

One of my favorite classes was Databases because it made everything click. The way it was taught helped me see how data is structured, stored, and optimized in real-world applications. It gave me a solid foundation in database design and query optimization, which made a lot of other concepts in software development make more sense. The professor also did a great job of breaking things down in a way that was both practical and engaging, which made me even more interested in backend systems.

Describe yourself outside of tech!

• Avid traveler – visited 21 countries and love exploring new cultures, foods, and experiences.
• Lifelong swimmer – being in the water is my happy place.
• Occasional pianist – I enjoy playing to unwind and relax.
• People person – love connecting with others and having meaningful conversations.
• Huge dog lover – I will stop to pet every dog I see!
• Music enthusiast – always listening to something, whether it’s discovering new artists or revisiting old favorites.
• Sports fan – especially love watching cricket and keeping up with matches.

What does being a part of RTC mean to you? Any key memories?

Being part of Rewriting the Code (RTC) means having a supportive community of women in tech who share similar experiences and challenges. One of my key memories was visiting the RTC booth at the Grace Hopper Conference, where I got to meet so many inspiring people—both mentors and peers—who reinforced the importance of community in tech. It was a space where I felt truly supported and connected, and it reminded me why representation and inclusion matter. RTC has given me access to mentorship, resources, and opportunities that have shaped my journey in tech, and I’m grateful to be part of a network that continuously lifts each other up.
